streamlined sunny kitchen

A small, typical kitchen in a Washington, DC Victorian row house was originally impractical, uninspired and crowded. Prioritizing practicality and playfulness, we turned a dated space into a delightful, quirky nourishing haven – complete with a pegboard and matching step stool. We started with a very basic kitchen – white cabinets and black countertops – eager to introduce creativity and playfulness as well as practical solutions for this workhorse. Early in the design process, our client revealed she had always dreamt of a yellow kitchen, which we were happy to make a reality.
