Project: This lovely couple spent years trying to find just the right place to buy, and they were in the middle of gut renovating this classic pre-war co-op when they contacted me. They had made loads of decisions for the renovation and were ready for a design plan that would take the guess work out of decorating and let them really enjoy their new home as soon as possible. They wanted a fun space that was easy to enjoy with their two young kids – a space to play in the living room; a dining room that worked for meals and arts and crafts; and bedrooms that were soothing and calm.
Design Challenge: Our biggest challenge was to find a creative way to make the dining room bright and interesting while also keeping it light and airy. We chose a gorgeous blue paint, Dusk from Restoration Hardware. It made the space feel richer and brighter – without using any precious square footage and while staying in budget!
Best Part: The clients were very trusting and enjoyed the process; it really makes for a rewarding experience.
