selecting the perfect couch for a fun basement project!
Hello and happy wedding season! Although the weather may be saying otherwise… spring is upon us and with that, I’d like to reintroduce a series of posts related to creating a timeless, modern-day registry.
As a designer, I often find that I have to work around items that couples received for their wedding, but don’t necessarily like anymore. While of course it is impossible to know exactly what will work in your future home, it is possible to strategically select classic, high-quality gifts that you can enjoy now (and for years to come!) I hope that with these posts, we can help you sort through the trends and create a registry that will withstand the test of time. We are going to break up these posts by topic — cookware, serving dishes, etc. — with the goal of selecting pieces that not only are useful but that you can integrate into your future homes as part of your decor. It’s amazing how a dining table and, as result the entire room, can take on such a different feel once you start adding dishes, placemats, glasses, etc. We don’t want you to feel limited by placemats you received 10 years ago and don’t like but hate to get rid of. And, we also do not like to be wasteful and try to use what clients already have. So, with all of those goals in sight, we are going to start tackling recommendations for wedding registry items that are classic but still personal, eclectic and fun!
For those of you who have already tied the knot, what are some pieces you still love??
(I love my le Creuset cookware!)
(This is a great set of everyday white dishes from Crate & Barrel.)
(Serena & Lily makes gorgeous bedding. High quality, classic design… we highly recommend!)
