Checking out what fun finds are on Craigslist! And, digging into Duron/Sherwin Williams paint colors...
I love creating a unique space. I turn to magazines (old Dominos!) and the internet (love Houzz) for inspiration. But at the end of the day creating a one of a kind space is what my design business is all about.
A great design exercise for me to stay inspired and stretch my imagination is to troll Craigslist and see what kind of design plan I can put together simply from my Craigslist finds. (Okay, so this may seem like justifying surfing the internet, but I promise this is work and crucial to staying inspired!). It’s super fun for me and puts into practice design principles (not rules!) that in my opinion are at the core of a great design.
Take today — I found these amazing chairs (a shade of pink I am currently drawn to),
and this beautiful table.
Well, it was clearly a sign to start designing a dining room with these pieces…
A few keyword searches later — chandelier, pendant, buffet, dresser, rosewood, canvas, wall art, framed art — and I had rounded out my chairs and table!
If I had an empty room, I would seriously snap up these pieces!
